Find a pet-friendly home at Sherwin Rise

Tuesday, 09 April 2024

Alan and his faithful labrador lady, Rosy, began a new chapter of life when he decided to make the move to Sherwin Rise. With Rosy by his side, Alan wanted a place where they could both enjoy more space and a genuine sense of community.

Bigger and better

The decision to move to Sherwin Rise was an easy one for Alan. As a pet owner, he appreciated the pet-friendly environment that the retirement village offered. He knew that Rosy's happiness and wellbeing were just as important as his own. As his furry friend grew older, he wanted to ensure she had plenty of room to play, and the spacious backyard at Sherwin Rise was just what they needed.

He says, “One day, we just came here and compared it with the other retirement villages I've been to. I liked this one the best. Most retirement villages you go have very little space for a backyard, but Sherwin Rise felt grander. Rosy has been my companion for the last 5 years and that was another reason why we came here.” With numerous walking tracks nearby, Alan knew Rosy would have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors safely and stay active himself.

Social connections

But it wasn't just the amenities that drew Alan to Sherwin Rise. Alan and Rosy quickly found themselves part of a community of fellow pet lovers who shared their passion for animals. It was the sense of community that made it feel like home. Coming from a place where he felt isolated, Alan appreciated the opportunity to meet new people.

He says, “I’ll probably know the majority of people here. It’s easy to meet people. Where I was before there was no sense of community whatsoever. But here, I go down to Happy Hour and soon get to know most of the people.”

With a strong social connections and a pet-friendly environment, Sherwin Rise offered Alan and Rosy the perfect balance of space and community to call it their home.
